Hello,
Emotional pain doesn’t live only in the mind.
Anxiety, trauma and low mood show up in the body too: a tight chest, a racing heart, a sense of shutting down.
At 'The Mind Body Counselling Center', we work with both the mind and body. Our approach is trauma-informed, somatic and relational, which means we pay attention to what you think and feel, what your body holds, and how you connect with others.
What began in 2019 as a private practice is now a team of therapists trained in approaches including Brainspotting (BSP), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and Somatic Psychotherapy (SP).
We specialize in providing psychotherapy for adults aged 21 and over who are dealing with anxiety, depression, complex PTSD, overthinking, difficulty managing emotions, low self-esteem or self-confidence, relationship difficulties, or feeling stuck and overwhelmed.

Our Team
Each member of our team brings hundreds of hours of counselling experience, and is committed to ethically sound practice. This means regular personal therapy, ongoing supervision, and continued engagement with learning and training.

Our Clinical Approaches
In our practice, we take an integrative approach to help our clients untangle their life problems rooted in Thoughts, Behaviors, and Emotions.
Some of the therapies we use in our work
Trauma-informed
Understanding the struggles of an individual in the context (micro & macro systems) of their lived experiences - wounds encountered and support available, and how it has impacted the nervous system. Facilitating change sensitively to resist re-traumatization.
Attachment Theory and Relational Approach
Looking at the quality of relationships one has experienced in their life. Exploring how these experiences have left imprints that continue to influence one’s relationship with themselves and others.
Depth-oriented
This involves exploring the unconscious and bringing to light parts of the self that have been hidden and integrating them over time.
Somatic therapy
Working at a body and nervous system level to help understand and navigate imprints of experiences of the past that are held in the body. Here, we work with the sensations, and emotional energy of the past held in the body and empower the client to regulate and move through emotions and sensations.

"The Mind Body Foundation is one of the most comfortable spaces to share, open up and heal. The journey has been amazing and I recommend it 100%. Thank you for helping me get back on my feet and discover myself. I'm eternally grateful."
Anjana
I started therapy a year back and was skeptical about how it would go. Now, I am glad I chose The Mind Body Foundation for starting my journey towards self care. Anitha creates an environment of trust and understanding which allows one to open up and discuss their issues. Highly recommend them for anyone who's looking to start their journey.

I’ve been Anitha’s client for 2 years now and it has been a wonderful journey. She helped me discover a lot about myself and cope through the challenges I faced. Discovery led to healing and Anitha made that possible for me.
